American feminist and philosophy of science professor Helen Longino sent a message of support for Mr. Öcalan’s Call for Peace and Democratic Society.
The message reads as follows:
“I have read the platform of the DEM Party and welcome its commitment to helping bring about a peaceful, pluralist, democratic society in Turkey. I was impressed by Abdullah Ocalan’s call to set aside the armed struggle and use peaceful means to achieve full rights for all citizens of Turkey, including the Kurds. I wish you well.”
Longino is a professor of philosophy at Stanford University. She has written several books on the philosophy of science, social epistemology, and feminist philosophy, and teaches courses in these areas. A leading contemporary philosopher of science, Longino is widely regarded as one of the most influential living feminist philosophers of science.
