Messages from German philosopher Hans Jörg Sandkühler and Tunisian philosopher Fathi Triki for the Peace and Democratic Society Process:
German philosopher Hans Jörg Sandkühler sent a message of support regarding the Peace and Democratic Society Process. Sandkühler’s message included the following statements:
"The peace process initiated by the Kurds and Turks deserves every international support. Abdullah Öcalan's call for an end to the use of violence is a touching example of democratic political habit.
As a requirement of the Peace Process, fair and restorative legal regulations must be implemented to enable those who have laid down their arms to return to their countries, and all obstacles to the political organisation of the Kurds must be removed. The release of Selahattin Demirtaş and his colleagues, leading figures in Kurdish politics, is one of the most urgent steps that must be taken. Furthermore, the conditions of Abdullah Öcalan, whom the Kurdish side sees as the chief negotiator, must be improved, and the Right to Hope must be implemented without delay.
I wish all those committed to the peace process success in defending humane principles of law and freedom."
